If you will check, there was a nuclear powered pacemaker, marketed by Coratomic Pacemakers of Indiana, Pa. It had a longevity which exceeded 70 years and was extremely small in size. It was not successful due to the high cost and the fact that the average patient could have a lithium powered pacer that lasted 15 to 20 years, at a fraction of the cost. This pacer was marketed in the late 1970’s and I believe the company folded in the early 80s.
